Head of Targeted Sales at Tigo Tanzania
Responsible for the full operation of the Targeted Sales department, from the identification and testing of targeted offers to the scale up and execution of the campaigns across multiple channels. This includes managing a pipeline of offer ideas for testing, the set-up and execution of test offers, prioritization and execution of roll out offers and the evaluation of test and roll-out campaigns. It also includes building capabilities in terms of campaign management systems, their integrations with other mobile platforms to improve offer implementation and execution, and the analytics/targeting capabilities of the team.
This role is also responsible for defining and managing the department’s financial objectives and budget, and for the training and personal development of the Targeted Sales team, including the Tele Marketing (call center) team.
Key Responsibilities
• Define, together with the Head of Commercial, the targeted sales objectives and strategy
• Manage the Targeted Sales team (including the Telemarketing team)
• Work with the team to build targeted sales capabilities in terms of customer information, analytics, systems, telemarketing processes, offer implementation, etc.
• Manage and drive the identification of new offers ideas, including the coordination of brainstorming meetings, to ensure proper input is captured from all stakeholders in the company, and all ideas to be tested are scheduled and implemented.
• Lead the implementation phase of each offer/ service/ product to be tested.
• Manage the tracking of test campaign results and the analysis for targeting offers.
• Ensure all roll-out offers are configured, pre-tested and verified, and ensure proper execution of offers through all the channels, before opening offers to the specified target groups.
• Support offer execution, tracking and improvement of the telemarketing channel, including also training and setting of variable incentives for the team.
• Manage the tracking of roll-out campaign results and the financial impact analysis for the targeted offers.
• Take initiatives to ensure a higher take rate for the implemented offers
• Ensure an offer library is built and updated with all test and roll-out offers
• Coordinate the departments interactions with other departments and stakeholders (global and local)
• Evaluate and report Targeted Sales performance KPIS to the management.
•Conduct any other tasks assigned by the manager
Position Requirements
• 5-7 years of proven experience in customer analytics or managing billing/provisioning platforms, ideally in the telecommunications industry; with experience or potential for a commercial / sales role.
• Alternatively, 5+ years of proven experience in telemarketing, customer operations or sales oriented operations, in businesses with a strong consumer and technology focus.
• Proven experience in roles with highly analytical / data intensive components.
• Experience managing people, building teams and developing new capabilities.
• University degree in Science, Business administration or Information Technology / Telecommunications related areas.
• MBA or Master in Science is desired.
• Proficiency with the MS Office Suite including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point. Proficiency in SQL, SPSS or other data analytics tools is a plus.
