JOB TITLE: OPERATOR (1)
REPORTS TO: TEAM LEADER
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To safely operate plant and equipment,
monitor and control the process to produce a consistent product of the
right quality at optimum cost.
KEY FOCUS AREAS
Prepare for plant start up
Maintain safe and healthy work environment
Measure performance attributes
Record performance attributes
Perform cleaning of the equipment as per standard
Raising of job cards for equipment problems.
Execute basic lubrication and inspection tasks.
Communicate effectively in the workplace
Maintenance tools in good working order
General Production housekeeping
THE PERSON
Min – Full Technician Certificate (FTC)
Ideal – FTC (Mech / Elec) or Electromechanical
Training: Min – 2 to 3 months on the job training
Ideal – 3 to 6 month on the job training
Experience: One year in manufacturing industry at Operator Level
COMPETENCE REQUIREMENT
Able to use balance scale (both Manual and Electronic)
Able to use sachorometer to measure gravity and apply anti-taint net procedures
Ability to operate electronic operator panels
Ability to work on adhoc and long hours in shift patterns

Food Science and Technology in joining Tanzania Breweries Limited as
Technical Trainee in the Quality Assurance (QA) Department – Dar Es
Salaam Plant. This is a program aimed at taking capable people into the
business to be developed for a career in senior management.
Requirements:
Candidates must have a BSc. Degree in Food Science and Technology, Bsc.
Degree in Biotechnology and laboratory science or any other relating
field. Other attributes include good analytical and interpersonal
skills, good computer skills (including and not limited to MS Excel /
Access Database/PC and Ms Windows). Should have plenty of energy and
drive, a good work ethic and demonstrate an ability to learn quickly.
On the Job Training Programme: The
program runs for a maximum of 2 years and covers all relevant aspects of
brewing industry particularly in QA. Successful candidates will be
mentored and trained in SABMiller management techniques that come from
our global position as the second largest brewing company in the world.
During traineeship the right candidate will be required to demonstrate
high levels of self motivation, interpersonal skills and the ability to
deliver results through problem solving and teamwork.
Due to TBL’s expansion programme the
Incumbent could find himself/herself appointed into a senior position
early in his/her new career.
