China handovers Certificate of Vehicles; offers Tanzania more interest-free loans

Permanent Secretary John Haule receives Handover Certificate of Vehicles from H.E. Dr. Lu Youqing. The Chinese Government had donated 91 vehicles to the Government of Tanzania, worth Tsh. 9,450,000,000 which are purported to used for transportation at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNIC) and various Government institutions.

Dr. Servacius Likwelile, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and H.E. Dr. Lu Youqing, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the United Republic of Tanzania sign one of the four Agreements of economic and technical cooperation between the two countries.
The four signed Agreements were: (1) Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation, whereby China is to provide gratis worth Shilling 50 billion to the Tanzania Government; (2) Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation, whereby China is to provide interest-free loan to Tanzania Government worth Shilling 35 billion; (3) Exchange of Letters on providing Furniture to China-Aided Nyerere International Convention Centre, worth Shilling 12.75 billion; and (4) Exchange of Letters on Donation of Office Equipments to Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB), worth Shilling 0.40 billion.

China aid to Tanzania extends through various fields that include health, education, human resource training, infrastructure, power and energy and more.

In his remarks, Ambassador Dr. Lu Youqing said today's event marks yet another achievement set by President Xi Jinping's visit last June 2013 here in Tanzania and Hon. Prime Minister Mizengo Pinda's visit to China.
